In the provinces of Boston, Hartford, New York, Newark, Omaha, and Philadelphia, Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter is celebrated as the Feast of the Ascension of the Lord, also known as \u201cAscension Thursday.\u201d In all other provinces in the United States of America the Feast of the Ascension is transferred to Sunday, replacing the Seventh Sunday of Easter.<\/em><\/p>\n

Entrance Antiphon (Vigil): <\/strong>You kingdoms of the earth, sing to God; praise the Lord, who ascends above the highest heavens; his majesty and might are in the skies, alleluia. (Ps 68 (67): 33, 35)<\/p>\n

Entrance Antiphon (Day): <\/strong>Men of Galilee, why gaze in wonder at the heavens? This Jesus whom you saw ascending into heaven will return as you saw him go, alleluia. (Acts 1: 11)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Collect (Vigil): <\/strong>O God, whose Son today ascended to the heavens
\nas the Apostles looked on,
\ngrant, we pray, that, in accordance with his promise,
\nwe may be worthy for him to live with us always on earth,
\nand we with him in heaven.
